Code of Ethics

Baldwin REALTORS® follows the National Association of REALTORS® three-year cycle for Code of Ethics training. The current three-year cycle runs from Jan. 1, 2025 - Dec. 31, 2027. All REALTOR® members must complete the Code of Ethics training during each cycle to maintain membership and the title of REALTOR®.

Code of Ethics training is not required by the Alabama Real Estate Commission to renew your Alabama Real Estate License – it is a requirement for membership in a REALTOR® organization.

However, you may take the Code of Ethics as a 3-hour elective to satisfy your CE requirement to renew your license.

The National Association of REALTORS® charges local associations with the task of verifying that all REALTOR® members complete the requirement and verifying that the classes being taught are in line with NAR’s recommended outline.

What classes satisfy Code of Ethics with Baldwin REALTORS®?

Live or Virtual COE Classes taught by BR Approved Instructors

BR must approve class content of all instructors who teach Code of Ethics. In-person classes can be taken off-site, as long as the instructor is approved through Baldwin REALTORS®.

NAR’s Online Options

Code of Ethics classes through the NAR website – nar.realtor. Classes are free when taken without CE credit.

Commitment to Excellence (C2EX)

NAR’s Commitment to Excellence (C2EX) program fulfills the Code of Ethics training requirement for existing members. This endorsement empowers REALTORS® to elevate, enhance, and showcase their highest levels of professionalism.

NAR & Baldwin REALTORS® will not accept completion of any live Code of Ethics classes offered by a brokerage firm, school or any online Code of Ethics class provided by any provider unless approved by Baldwin REALTORS®.

How do I make sure Baldwin REALTORS® knows I completed my Code of Ethics?

To ensure BR’s records are correct, send us the completion certificate, copy of the completion email, or a ‘screenshot’ or ‘screen grab’ of your Alabama Real Estate Commission (AREC) course list showing your course title, date and instructor. Send this information to allison@baldwinrealtors.com.

Please Note: You may have received CE for completing a Code of Ethics class during this current cycle, but Baldwin REALTORS® does not have access to your CE records on file with the Alabama Real Estate Commission. That information is password protected by federal law.
