ROBERTSDALE, Ala. –July’s housing highlights are encouragingly similar to the months prior to COVID. Baldwin REALTORS® Multiple Listing Service (MLS) reports a year-over-year increase in the total number of properties sold in July 2020 for both Resort and Traditional Residential areas, as well as an increase in sales price that has been lacking in the months of May and June. July’s average sales price for the Resort area increased to $467,757, compared to $451,646 in 2019. Additionally, July’s average sales price for Traditional Residential increased to $286,574, compared to $268,542 in 2019.
For the Resort Area of Baldwin County, a total of 301 properties sold last month, compared to 166 in July 2019 – an 81.3% increase. Listings moved off the market at nearly the same pace as the year prior, spending an average of 101 days in active status compared to 97 days in July 2019.
For Traditional Residential properties in Baldwin County, a total of 534 sold last month, compared to 453 in July 2019. The data that remains consistent with previous post-COVID reporting is that listings in this area continue to zoom off the market. July 2020 saw an average of 66 days on market, compared to 88 days in July 2019.
